In order to provide a program that was:

1. Functional for the average user and

2. Did not require the user to purchase a large selection of remedies.

The set of remedies in the "Standard Household Kit" were chosen a the basis for this program.

The other reason for this is that the cost of this kit is far less than the cost of the individual bottles and for new users it is probably the most logical approach (We get nothing from Standard for this , it is just good economics).
